Whether you are a beginner or have some experience with acrylic painting, this course will help you learn how to paint with acrylic medium effectively and mix your colours well. We will guide you on techniques to achieve various visual effects, and you will learn to develop skills to paint and complete still life and landscape paintings. In addition to practical exercises investigating colours, lines, shapes, form, volume, light, texture, and more, you will also get to enjoy the freedom of expression in creating your original acrylic paintings either by direct observation, studies made from photos and visual references, or visual impressions through your own experiences, feelings, and thoughts, ideas, dreams, and imagination. The recommended number of sessions is from 12 to 48 sessions or more sessions depending on your intended level of practice. You shall learn and understand about painting with acrylic medium progressively through practical experience. You will be introduced with all the necessary materials and tools, including canvas, canvas panel, paper, basic set of colours, brushes, painting knives, medium glossy or matt, and varnish. You will learn how to handle the materials and understand about colours, including primary colours, secondary colours, tertiary (intermediate) colours, value (lightness and darkness of a colour), and colour wheels. You will learn about direct experience with colours, tint, tone, shade, grey, and complementary colours. You will also learn about how to make your colours beautiful, intensity or chrome of colours (brightness or dullness of colours), cool colours, warm colours, blending techniques, and how to save costs. We will also teach you how to use medium gel and paste to create texture on the surface and how to move from representational painting to non-representational painting. We will help you develop a powerful composition and have a great colour for your painting using various art elements and design principles. After completing this course, you shall be able to paint with acrylic medium and enjoy the freedom of expression in creating your painting either from your observation and experiences, feelings and thoughts, ideas, dreams, or imagination, or your photos or visual references. You can continue to book any number of painting sessions for Acrylic Painting for Improver or Painting with the Artist if you wish. You shall be able to investigate and develop skills or to further progress your artistic practice at any level and to enjoy art- making and freedom of expression with acrylic medium. The course is designed for learners of all levels. The Basic level is for those with limited or no prior knowledge of the subject area, covering basic knowledge and application. The Intermediate level is for learners who have some working knowledge of the subject area, covering knowledge and application at a more complex level. The Advanced level is designed for experienced practitioners who wish to deepen their skills in the specialized area, covering complex and specialized topics.
