Religious Advisors & Resident Monk
Venerable U Kumarra is a disciple of Venerable Sayadaw U Pandita of
Panditarama Golden Hill Meditation Centre in Myanmar and studied
and practised the Vipassana meditation under him. He is a qualified
Dhammachariya and taught Vipassana meditation and gave Dhamma
talk as an assistant meditation teacher while he stayed in the
Panditarama Golden Hill Meditation Centre from 2011 to 2015. In 2016,
he came to Singapore under the instruction of Venerable Sayadaw U
Pandita to teach at Vipassana Meditation Centre (Singapore). He has
already completed more than 18 vasa as a monk and was appointed as
Resident Monk cum Religious Advisor of VMC since 11 July 2016.
Sayadaw U Tejanana was born in Myanmar in 1973. He received
higher ordination at the age of twenty. He graduated with
Dhammacariya at Nyang Tone Pali University in his early years and is a
disciple of Sayadaw U Pandita of Panditarama Golden Hill Meditation
Centre in Myanmar. He studied and practised the Vipassana Meditation
under Sayadaw U Pandita since 2008. Sayadaw U Tejanana also taught
Vipassana meditation and gave Dhamma talks as an assistant
meditation teacher from 2008 to 2011 while he stayed in the
Panditarama Golden Hill Meditation Centre and is also an experienced
Abhidhamma teacher. In 2011, he came to Sinigapore under the
instruction of Sayadaw U Pandita to teach Vipassana Meditation and he
has been the religious advisor cum resident monk of Vipassana
Meditation Centre (Siingapore) till 2016. Currently, he is teaching
Vipassana at Panditarama Meditation Centre (Hawaii).
Sayadaw U Pannananda (Ex-resident monk of VMC from 1999 to 2012
Feb). Sayadaw U Pannananda is a disciple of Venerable Sayadaw U
Pandita of paditarama Golden Hill Meditation Centre in Myanmar and
studied and practiced the Vipassana meditation under him. Sayadaw U
Pannananda also taught vipassana meditation and gave Dhamma talk
as an assistant meditation teacher while he stayed in the Panditarama
Golden Hill Meditation Centre. In 1997, he came to Malaysia under the
instruction of Venerable Sayadaw U Pandita to teach vipassana
meditation in Penang and Kuala Lumpur. He has already completed
more than 20 vasa as a monk. Appointed temple abbot, MBMC Penang,
with effect from 26 Feb 2012.
Sayadaw U Pannathami (Religious Advisor) Sayadaw U Pannathami
was born in Myanmar in 1948. He received higher ordination at the age
of twenty. He graduated with Sasanadhaja Dhammacariya and in his
early years, Sayadaw had practiced meditation under illustrious
masters, notably the late Most Venerable Mahasi Sayadaw as well as
Sayadaw U Pandita. Sayadaw has many years of experience guiding
meditators, easterners and westerners alike, particularly in the practice
of Insight (Vipassana) Meditation. He had carried the torch of Dhamma
to many countries: Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Canada, USA and UK
and is well respected for his skillful guidance, loving-kindness and
compassion. Since January 2000, Sayadaw U Pannathami has been the
abbot of Panditarama Sydney Meditation Center, Sydney, Australia. In
November 2001, he founded the Panditarama Melbourne Meditation
Center, Australia.
Ovadacariya Sayadaw U Panditabhivamsa (Chief Religious Advisor)
Ovadacariya Sayadaw U Panditabhivamsa entered a monastery in a
remote village in Burma at the age of seven, and progressed to become
renowned as one of the outstanding teachers in the tradition of Mahasi
Sayadaw, famed for reviving and developing a rigorous meditation
technique found in ancient texts. Sayadaw U Pandita teaches from his
own profound meditative experience gained over 62 years of monastic
training, and from his detailed study of the Pali suttas. Since 1951, he
has taught thousands of students, and traveled to many Asian
countries as well as to the United States, Europe and Australia to lead
retreats. He is now the abbot of Panditarama Monastery and
Meditation Center in Yangon, Myanmar, and Forest Center Branch
where he teaches ordained and lay students from Asia and the West.
